This is a page describing a single quest in detail, and thus it may (and probably will) reveal plot or quest details. Spoilers will not be hidden from view. For a spoiler-free description of the quest (including difficulty and prerequisites), go here.
Although it can be a bit long, this quest can be highly lucrative in terms of acquiring adventure tokens and a substantial bonus to experience to all skills and powers.
Tips[]
It is recommended to only pick up the silver stones, even if it takes longer to complete the quest.
There is additional content at The Jadefang Lair that is only available through and during this quest.
The AS&P reward is considerable, you may want to wait until you get (or are about to get with retroactive Quickstone bonus) most skills and powers before collecting the final rewards.
Prerequisites[]
This quest is unlocked by finding Adrimar when exploring the Old North Wood.
Walkthrough[]
After you find Adrimar, you'll occasionally bump into a colored pea-sized stone while exploring the Old North Wood: You suddenly spot something on the ground up ahead.... Adrimar's name is misspelled in all the item descriptions:
This pea-sized glowing silver stone is one of the stones that the white-bearded man you met in the thick of the Old North Wood -- Andrimar -- claims to have accidentally lost during his explorations in the forest. He has asked you to visit him at his cottage on the eastern edge of the wood so that he can reward you, in the event that you discover any of his lost stones.
This pea-sized glowing red stone is one of the stones that the white-bearded man you met in the thick of the Old North Wood -- Andrimar -- claims to have accidentally lost during his explorations in the forest. He has asked you to visit him at his cottage on the eastern edge of the wood so that he can reward you, in the event that you discover any of his lost stones.
This pea-sized glowing blue stone is one of the stones that the white-bearded man you met in the thick of the Old North Wood -- Andrimar -- claims to have accidentally lost during his explorations in the forest. He has asked you to visit him at his cottage on the eastern edge of the wood so that he can reward you, in the event that you discover any of his lost stones.

You cannot drop stones once you pick them up.
You can choose not to pick up a stone, and instead wait for another one to turn up.
Each stone you pick up will grant you a General XP bonus in the end:
There are several extra silver stones (6 in total) and 4 AT inside the Jadefang Lair that are only available during this quest (as seen in Jadefang Lair. You basically need to kill the Queen two times between receiving and before completing Adrimar's task. (Historical note: There was, for a while, a 'fix' that rewarded you with 4 more ATs at the small building with a blue door in Hawklor, Trithik or Talinus after you killed the queen a second time, but it has been removed.) [On 2/14/2023, I found all 20 (silver) stones while exploring the Old North Wood. Visiting the Jadefang Lair seems to no longer be required, and maybe the opportunity to receive those aforementioned 4 AT has been removed? Not sure about that last note,]
You will never encounter Adrimar at home again after this quest is complete, even if the cottage is still visitable, and thus this is one of the game's loose ends.
Rewards[]
Once you have 20 stones, you'll stop finding more, and if you visit Adrimar's Cottage you'll find him at home.
He will award you with General XP depending on the kind of stones you give him (The max reward is 7680 General XP for returning 20 silver stones)
