 A Little Matter About an Orb (AG) Formal Adventure?

Location: Hawklor
Description: Mirew Piperen, the curious character you met outside the Stoneback Tavern (and who imparted to you a pouch full of Adventurer Tokens as a retainer for your services at a future date), has resurfaced in Hawklor, and he is now seeking your help in what he calls "a little matter about an orb".
Requirements: Must have completed The Caves of Westwold adventure.
Difficulty: 9+ at MR 79 observed, required fights are random difficulty
This quest gives a chance to earn xp to all skills and powers.
This quest gives a chance to earn Adventurer Tokens.
Note: Not listed in Adventurer Log

General Information[]

This is a good quest to do when you're still relatively low-level. It's located in Hawklor, in Adventures for this location.

Tips[]

There will be much loot, so make sure your inventory is as empty as possible. You're told you can rest above the dungeon entrance, but this option must have been removed.

Walkthrough[]

It's a simple (not always easy) dungeon crawl.

Random enemies
  • Rot Snails (9+ at MR ??-42 Approx, 40 SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • Slithering Menaces (9+ at MR 43-45 Approx, 60 SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • Carnage Crawler (9+ at MR 53-57 Variable, 70 SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • Blackhorn Beetles (9+ at MR 48-50 Approx, 55 SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • Hylbor Beetles (9+ at MR 43-45 Approx, 55 SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • Armoured Scavengers (9+ at MR 55 Exact, 70 SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee

All these enemies drop loot.

Dead adventurers

You can also take the remnants of the lost adventurers' equipment. It's low to mid-level loot, suitable for adventuring or else good to sell.

Swarms of monsters

Once you reach the final corridor, you'll find several swarms of enemies at set places. These encounters vary considerably in difficulty, and some may even exceed what's indicated here.

  • 6 Hylbor Beetles (9+ at MR 55-57 Approx, 65 SP), ~7-10 SP special, you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • 7 Hylbor Beetles (9+ at MR 65-66 Approx, 70 SP), ~7-10 SP special, you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • 6 Blood Grubs (9+ at MR 67 Exact, 70 SP), ~7 SP special, you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • 7 Blood Grubs (9+ at MR 76 Exact, ~82 SP), ~7-8 SP special, you have to attack 1 time before you can flee
  • 7 Armoured Scavengers (9+ at MR 79-80 Approx, 100+ SP), you have to attack 1 time before you can flee

The swarms are guaranteed to have loot, of mixed quality but usually better than the random foes.

When you reach the orb location, you'll have to fight a Massive Blackthorn Beetle (9+ at MR 54 Exact, 65 SP, ~70 XP), ~7 SP special.

Once you retrieve the Glowing White Orb, a new passage will open to the South of the point 2S, 1W, which will save you a long tedious return trip.

After you return to the surface, Mirew gives you your reward for completion.
